  Customer service non-existent. Paid $350 for a fire pit which sat in the garage unused for 6 months. Used it for less than a year (10 months) after we moved into a new place and had about 20 fires in it. The "cast iron" fire pit rusted out.
  When I went back to the store I was told it only had a 12 month warranty. I asked about statutory warranty which drew a quizzical frown. I asked "Can you tell me who the manufacturer is?"
  When the store guy said he didn't know I asked him if he could find out.
  Five minutes later he was back with this response: "We don't stock them anymore. We just imported a heap of them from China. I don't know who makes them."
  I asked if there was anything he could do to help me. This was met with "Not really."
  I said "So what you're telling me is that the product was a heap of rubbish and you're not going to do anything about it?"
  This got a shrug of the shoulders and and wry smile.
  Thanks for nothing. A complete waste of money.
  I paid $3500 for a wood heater from Barbeques Galore around the same time. I hope it lasts a bit longer than the non fire retardant fire pit.
